Hive mind and Collective Intelligence_a small confusion

I lost the original version of this post...:( because of my laptop problem!! I am trying to write as I can remember.

One of the topics of this week is collective intelligence and the hive mind. Even though I posted in the discussion board as I understood, there was a curiosity about the way I understand the two concepts.

According to the Wikibooks, collective intelligence is where the intelligence of a group out-weighs the intelligence of an individual. And, the hive mind is an entity of multiple people who openly share their knowledge and opinions, which may lead to collective intelligence or uncritical conformity.
However, I was confused about what is the best way to understand the two concepts. For me, they looked similar but different. The hive mind looked like an abstract representation or description of a phenomenon that people gather and work individually but construct a whole structure under the web world. And, collective intelligence was a specific result or characteristic in the hive mind. (I will explore and discuss it more in the future.)

Perhaps my habits such as categorization of the concepts and the imagination of the process of making a beehive while looking at the pictures above seem to cause this confusion. I thought that it is better not to dichotomize social phenomena by reading other papers and books recently. So, I decided to understand collective intelligence and the hive mind as different descriptions with one phenomenon according to technology development or Web 2.0.
